These cute-looking peaceful fish can tolerate a wide range of water conditions and are ideal candidates for a community tank. You can safely mix them with Livebearers, Tetras, Barbs, Danios, Discus, Angelfish, Rasboras, Gouramis, Rainbowfish, Plecos, and peaceful scavengers. They are school fish, so it is best to keep six or more in a well planted aquarium. I recommend a fine sandy substrate to prevent their delicates barbells from being damaged.
Corydoras are scaleless fish, they are very sensitive to salt and nitrate among other medications in the aquarium so don’t use them to cycle your tank. Unlike plecos Corys will not remove any algae from your tank, feed them sinking catfish food as well as frozen brine and live worms. |
